Calendar for 2008 April 1 is the first newsletter deadline. April 20--MSWS Members meeting at the Mississippi Crafts Center on the Natchez Trace in Ridgeland. Topic will be "Going Digital", 2-4pm.. Board meets at 1:00. May 3--Gary Walters workshop at the Gaddis Studio in Fondren. Gary will demonstrate several watercolor techniques. May 15--Fundraiser art sale at the Mississippi Crafts Center. Reception 5-9pm. July 1 is the deadline for the second newsletter. July 7--Postmark deadline for receiving Grand National CD's, fee, forms, and stamped, self-address envelope. July 13--MSWS Members meeting at the Mississippi Crafts Center to view submissions to the Grand National, 2-4pm. Board meets at 1:00. July 30--Artists notification mailed concerning acceptance for the Grand National. September 2-5--Paintings due at the Mississippi Museum of Art, no sooner than September 4 and no lager than September 7. Hand delivered paintings due at the Museum on September 2 from 10:00 am to 12 noon and from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. September 6--Hang paintings for Member's Show at the Municipal Art Gallery in Jackson. This is a juried show with the judge being a non-member local artist. September 7--Member's Show reception at Municipal Art Gallery, 2-4pm. September 22-26--Ratindra Das workshop. October 1 is the deadline for our third newsletter. October 5--Grand National reception (2-4pm) opening the Grand National at the Mississippi Museum of Art in Jackson. December 1 is the deadline for the Winter newsletter. January 4, 2009--Last day of Grand National Exhibition. January 5, 2009--Pick up hand delivered paintings. January 14, 2009--The Museum will begin shipping paintings.
